Ana Mato, Health Minister, declared that only emigrants with VIH and cancer will be able to have medical assistance. She explained it is a necessary measure to finish with the abuses of free assistance.
They calculate that if it's a good measure, they can save approximately 1.500 million € .
She says that this action is an important step to guarantee the viability and efficiency of Spanish health assistance.
To achieve this purpose they included prosthesis, dietetic products and not urgent transport in payment services.
She also affirmed that people who need urgent transport don't have to pay it. At the moment this measures are provisional, Ana Mato is waiting for the government to accept them.
